The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.

The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes.  This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

What you’ll do

We are establishing a new Analytics Governance team to improve the trust, clarity and usability of our data across the enterprise. As a Analytics Steward, you will play a key role in defining, managing and maintaining data definitions, ownership, and metadata - ensuring that data is consistently understood and fit for use across the organisation. The Analytics Steward ensures that analytics assets(reports, dashboards, KPIs and data products) are properly cataloged, governed and aligned with enterprise data standards. This role bridges business and technology teams by maintaining metadata, lineage and glossary while supporting compliance and enabling self service analytics.

1) Maintain and manage the analytics catalog, including metadata, lineage and ownership details.
2) Ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance of analytics assets with governance policies.
3) Partner with business analysts , data owners and developers to document and validate metadata.
4)Monitor data quality, access and usage of reports/dashboards.
5)Support governance forums, audits and regulatory reporting needs.
5)Create SOPs, guidelines and training materials.
6)Maintain business glossaries, KPIs for key data domains

Essential for the role

1) 3+ years in data governance, stewardship or business data management
2)Strong understanding of metadata management,data lineage and business glossary concepts.
3)Experience with analytics/reporting platforms (eg: SAP Analytics cloud, Power BI, Tableu or similar)
5) Familiarity with data governance practices and standards (eg. DAMA DMBOK)
6)Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
7) Strong documentation and attention to detail.
8) Solid understanding of business processes and data domains (eg: finance, operations)
9) Hands-on experience with metadata/catalog tools (eg: Collibra)
10) Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Desirable for the role

1) Knowledge of cloud data platforms (eg: SAP Datasphere, Snowflake etc)
2) Understanding of regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA,Sox etc)
3)Understanding of data quality principles
and stewardship workflows
4) Basic SQL or BI knowledge to validate data issues or usage patterns
4) Industry experience (healthcare etc)
5) Jira experience
6) Exposure to AI/ML governance concepts
